There are many ways to use sutra wood in daily life, such as laying, wrapping, and decorating.

Sutra wood is a traditional Japanese natural material made of wood that has been shaved as thin as paper. It has excellent moisture control, air permeability, and antibacterial properties to maintain the freshness of food. Shiki, a Shinshu sutra wood, is made of 100% red pine, a local material in the Inadani. When the red pine dies, its fibers become useless and cannot be used as lumber. We wanted to breathe the next life into the dying life of trees that have grown over decades of time and use them in our daily lives.
